Secaucus 9/11 Memorial

On September 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked commercial airliners and destroyed the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and damaged the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., killing thousands of innocent people. The devastation was felt especially deeply in Secaucus, which lost six residents: Arlene Babakitis, Richard Cudina, Nancy Perez, Kenneth Simon, Steven Strobert, and Michael Tanner. Though the attacks broke hearts and tested souls, they did not break the community’s spirit, and Secaucus resolved to remember the dead always, honor the countless others who left unfillable spaces in their families, and move forward together united and stronger than ever.
