The War of 1812 was fought from 1812 to 1815 in the Eastern United States, the Great Lakes, and Lake Champlain. It ended with the Treaty of Ghent, signed in 1814, and, unaware of the treaty, General Jackson crushed the British at New Orleans on January 8, 1815. Estimated deaths were 2,260 and estimated wounded were 4,505.
