Built circa 1930, the Ruleville Depot served as an Illinois Central Gulf Railroad depot until 1978. The railroad, built in 1897 by Major C. H. Pond and originally called the Yazoo Delta Railroad, first ran from Moorhead to Ruleville. With both passenger and freight service, the railroad contributed to the early growth of Ruleville.
