History
3
Built in 1894, this frame house served as the home and office of Dr. Benjamin Richard Thomason, one of Era's first physicians. His son, Robert Ewing Thomason, hauled lumber from Gainesville for its construction and later had a long public career as a U.S. Congressman and Federal District Judge. The house features Victorian porch detailing and elegant interior woodwork. In 1948, the L. A. Scott Family acquired the residence.
