During the late 1800’s, Rubin Ferguson lived here and operated a ferry and boat dock where barrels of meal, flour, corn, coffee, cotton, tools, and building materials arrived from various ports downriver. Boats that came here included The Andy Hatcher, The Favorite, and The Cricket. This was also the former site of Rainbow Arched Bridge.
