Hauge Lutheran Church, circa 1852, stands as a reminder of the Norwegian pioneers who built this church and tamed this land. It honors Rev. Elling Eielsen, Cleng Peerson, the original Slooper families, and the thousands of pioneers who followed. On May 6, 2016, it was honorably placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior.
