Built in 1915, the one-lane bridge is one of Louisiana's earliest examples of an all-concrete structure. Its unique characteristics give it a coherent, monolithic appearance. The reinforced concrete superstructure consists of a concrete deck on two concrete girders per span, and it appears to have been built without joints. The bridge was closed in 2002 after 87 years of service.
