In-Ko-Pah Gorge is a deep, narrow canyon in southeastern California that straddles San Diego and Imperial counties in the In-Ko-Pah Mountains. Originally called Myer Canyon, it begins in the Jacumba Mountains at about 2,240 feet above sea level and descends eastward to about 846 feet before Myer Creek continues toward the Yuha Desert east of Ocotillo. The gorge was carved by Myer Creek, joined by Boulder Creek shortly below its source. Its steep, confined landscape also makes it an important but vulnerable transportation corridor, with eastbound Interstate 8 running through the gorge while westbound lanes follow Devils Canyon; severe weather can force closures, as a major rockslide did during Hurricane Hilary in 2023.
