Trans-Peninsular Line Midpoint Marker

In pre-Revolutionary Colonial America, these monuments marked the southwest corner of the Three Lower Counties of the Delaware, then part of the Pennsylvania Colony. The point was originally determined by local surveyors with two small stones circa 1750 and was later verified by Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon with a large marker circa 1764.
