Shepherd Mountain is a summit in Missouri's Arcadia Valley, just west of Ironton and Stouts Creek in Iron County. Named for geologist Forrest Shepherd, it is known today as a mountain landscape with hiking routes and the Shepherd Mountain Bike Park, a downhill riding area with several trails. The mountain also holds Civil War significance as one of the sites of action during the Battle of Fort Davidson, connecting its ridge to the fighting around nearby Ironton.
