The Red Oak Firehouse property is listed in the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior. Red Oak Fire Department imagery recalls a circa 1898 horse-drawn fire wagon with the horses Dude and Dandy ready to go at the first sound of the fire bell, and a circa 1929 shift to modern fire equipment with an American LaFrance 750 gallon pumper truck.
