The Taylor House
History
13
Built in 1934, the house and surrounding 39-acre family farm were home to John Emmons Taylor, his wife Louise Jennings Taylor, and their two daughters, Elizabeth and Alice. The Taylors were recognized active members of the community and faithful church members. John Emmons Taylor served his country as a combat veteran of WWI and the Greene community as a mailman. Louise Jennings Taylor was also active in the community as a substitute teacher, part-time postal worker, and an award-winning quilter. The Taylor family and this property proudly represent Greene's rural agricultural heritage.
