Landsford Canal State Park Trails include the Canal Trail, an easy 1.25-mile one-way route from either the Park Office parking area or the south entrance parking area that follows Landsford Canal, a 19th-century waterway built to bypass the rocky rapids of the Catawba River and once used as an important trading route between the foothills and coastal plain, where remnants of the original stonework and locks remain visible near the south end; the Nature Trail, an easy 0.75-mile route from the Park Office parking area to the Spider Lily Overlook along the banks of the Catawba River with opportunities to view the river, wildlife, nesting eagles, and Rocky Shoals Spider Lilies when in bloom; and the Museum Trail, a 0.25-mile one-way walk from behind the museum to a bluff overlooking the Catawba River.
