Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park in western Oklahoma, south of Hinton in Caddo County, occupies a red-walled canyon long valued for both shelter and travel. Plains Indians used it as a winter campsite, and later emigrants on the California Road stopped there for fresh water and wagon repairs, leaving wheel ruts still visible today. The park is also significant for its natural features, including the only remaining site of native Caddo maple trees and notable fall foliage. Donated to the state in 1956 as Kiwanis Canyon Park, it later became Red Rock Canyon State Park and, after 2018, continued under local lease and private operation.
