In Bellefontaine, Ohio, the paving of concrete streets during the 1890's resulted principally from the efforts of George Bartholomew. In 1991, the citizens of Logan County received a statue from the concrete industries of Ohio and the United States to mark the one hundredth anniversary of the first concrete street in America.
