The memorial is dedicated to the men and women of Miller County who honorably serve in the Armed Forces of the United States, past, present, and future, during war and peace. It presents soldiers as the defenders of freedom of religion, freedom of the press, freedom of speech, the freedom to protest, the right to a fair trial, and the right to vote, and it honors those who salute the flag, serve beneath it, and are buried with it draped over their coffins.
