Mount Williams in Norman, Oklahoma, was not a natural mountain but a large artificial hill built by the United States Navy as the backstop for a firing range near the Interstate 35 and Robinson Street interchange. Named for the base commander when it was constructed, it became a minor local landmark and was also widely known as Mount Norman, Bullet Mountain, Bullet Hill, or the Bullet Mound, names that reflected both local usage and its military origin. In 2006 it was demolished to make way for a Super Target, though its name endures in nearby Mount Williams Drive.
