Bridgeport Depot Museum
History
Bridgeport, Alabama’s railroad heritage and wider community history are preserved through collections assembled on the site of the town’s fourth railroad depot, built in 1917. The collection includes railroad memorabilia and local artifacts that trace life in Bridgeport across more than a century. Documentary holdings reach back to 1807 and include issues of the Bridgeport News from 1891, as well as post office and tax records. Materials connected to Bridgeport’s role in the American Civil War add further historical depth. Together, these resources make the site both a railroad landmark and an important repository of the town’s past.
