An 80-foot water tower held a tank at its top that supplied gravity-fed water to the mansion, while estate employees and their families lived in quarters beneath the tank. A hydraulic ram pump, powered by water pressure and gravity, lifted water from the spring to the tank over a vertical distance of nearly 300 feet. The water tower survived the 1942 fire that gutted the mansion and stable, but vandals burned it in 1976.
