Antioch Pines Natural Area Preserve is a 1,157-acre protected landscape along the Blackwater River near Zuni, Virginia, managed by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation. It preserves loblolly pine and turkey oak habitat and is known for several plants rare in Virginia, including Plukenet's flatsedge, sandy-woods chaffhead, and viperina. Its swales support diverse wildflowers such as orchids, trilliums, bellworts, and lilies. Especially important are two longleaf pines, among the last known in Virginia, which are part of a Virginia Department of Forestry breeding program to restore the species to its former habitat. Public access is limited to arranged visits with a state land steward.
