Katie (Nageotte) Moon competed on Ashland University's track and field teams as a junior and senior, winning NCAA Division II pole vault championships indoors and outdoors in 2013 and earning All-American honors three times. She set program pole vault records indoors at 4.27 meters and outdoors at 4.44 meters. After graduation, she became one of the most recognizable female athletes in the country and one of the top women's pole vaulters in the United States and the world. As a member of Team USA, she won a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo and a silver medal at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris. She also won gold at the 2022 and 2023 World Championships and silver at the 2019 Pan-American Games, and she entered the USTFCCA NCAA Division II Hall of Fame in 2022 and the 2024 Ashland University Hall of Fame class.
