Gateway Casino, Tony Mart’s Bay Shores, and Steel’s Ship Bar stood at this end of Bay Avenue, forming the musical heart of the bay-front from the big bands and marathon dances of the 30’s and 40’s to the rock and roll greats of the 50’s and 60’s.
