Arboga was the site where 2,465 Japanese Americans forced from their homes in Placer and Sacramento counties were incarcerated from May 8 to June 29, 1942, by the United States Government. Four months earlier, on February 19, 1942, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, which unjustifiably ordered the removal of all persons of Japanese ancestry from the West Coast. The history of Arboga stands as a call for constitutional rights to be unquestionably upheld in the United States of America.
