The people of Burke County dedicated this memorial to county men who died in war, honoring those lost in Vietnam, World War II, World War I, and Korea, and also naming Jeffrey Stokes under Lebanon, alongside the inscription, “For those who fought for it Freedom has a taste the protected will never know.”
