Crockett Cemetery, founded about 1880 in the shadow of the Upper Redoubt at Johnsonville, contains the graves of people who once lived and worked there. In 1987, the families of Old Johnsonville erected a monument listing the family names of those buried in the cemetery. Two family plots are known, those of the Lee and Elvington families. The cemetery is thought to contain about 140 graves dating from 1880 to 1974, and less than half of them are marked. Several grave markers are adorned with significant examples of later nineteenth- and early twentieth-century decorative carving.
