Isaac and Victoria Miers were among the early families in Sonora and built the town’s fifth house. Isaac was born April 13, 1835 in Carrol County, Mississippi, and Victoria was born December 11, 1841 in Painsville, Lake County, Ohio. They married in Madisonville, Texas, on January 13, 1867. Their children were Mary Adelaide Lula (Jackson), born May 18, 1868; William Andrew, born September 27, 1870; Robert E. Lee, born July 4, 1872; Eula Electra Ida (Markwood), born August 28, 1874; Wilburn Edward, born August 4, 1877; Alma Nancy Carrie (Savell), born October 11, 1879; and George Pink, born October 18, 1883.
