Brooker Creek Preserve in Pinellas County, Florida, near Tarpon Springs, spans about 8,700 acres and is among the county’s largest protected natural areas. Owned by Pinellas County and the Southwest Florida Water Management District and managed by the county’s Parks and Conservation Resources Department, it serves both conservation and low-impact recreation, including birding, hiking, and horseback riding. Its Environmental Education Center offers exhibits and programs on Florida natural and local history. The land also preserves evidence of thousands of years of Indigenous presence, including spear points dated from 7000 BCE to 900 CE, and is associated most recently with the Tocobaga.
