Otho French Strahl served as a Confederate brigadier general in Strahl's Brigade, part of Major General John C. Brown's 3rd Division, Major General Benjamin E. Cheatham's 1st Corps, in General John B. Hood's Army of Tennessee. He was killed at the Battle of Franklin, Tennessee, on 30 November 1864.
