Mull Covered Bridge, built in 1851 over the east branch of Wolf Creek near Burgoon in Ballville Township, began as a practical solution for sawmill owner Amos Mull, whose customers struggled to cross the stream. Sandusky County commissioners contributed seventy-five dollars and Mull provided lumber from his mill. Built as a one-hundred-foot Town lattice truss span, it later gained a central concrete support. The bridge carried traffic for more than a century before closing in 1962, when a new concrete arch bridge replaced it. Preserved by the county and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, it remains one of Ohio’s oldest and rarest surviving covered bridges.
