Alpine Community Church, made of local blue stone and dedicated on August 17, 1871, stands at the summit of the Palisades on the historic Closter Dock Road and Old Dock Road. It was designed by renowned architect J. Cleveland Cady. Fishermen, quarrymen, laborers, and local business people contributed to its construction. For generations it has been a focal point of Alpine.
