The Gillett-Loyce Cemetery was named in 1898 for landowner David Gillett and the early nearby settlement of Loyce. Gillett donated the one-acre site in memory of his wife, Rosa. Those buried there include veterans of the War Between the States, the Spanish-American War, and later wars, and the cemetery is reserved for David Gillett’s descendants.
