Sizerville State Park is a 386-acre park in northern Pennsylvania, nearly surrounded by Elk State Forest and named for the nearby ghost town of Sizerville, a former logging community tied to the Sizer family. After the late 19th-century logging boom ended and the town declined, the park opened in 1924 and was further transformed in the 1930s when the Civilian Conservation Corps reforested heavily cut land with white pine and hemlock. Today its trails, fishing streams, campground, winter recreation, and environmental education programs reflect both the area’s natural recovery and its lasting connection to the region’s lumber-era past.
