Wilmington Station was completed in 1905 for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Furness and Evans were the architects. It was restored in 1984 under the Northeast Corridor Improvement Project through the United States Department of Transportation, Federal Railroad Administration, and State of Delaware Department of Transportation. Funding agencies included the National Railroad Passenger Corporation. De Leuw, Cather/Parsons served as program managers, and Skidmore, Owings and Merrill and Moeckel Carbonell Associates, Inc., were architects.
