Mousetail Landing State Park occupies 1,247 acres along the eastern bank of the Tennessee River near Linden in western Tennessee. Established in 1979 as one of the newer Tennessee State Parks, it blends outdoor recreation with remnants of an older river community. Its name is traditionally tied to a Civil War-era fire at a tannery near the landing that sent mice fleeing toward the river. The park offers trails, campsites, a swimming beach, boat access, sports facilities, an archery range, and an event pavilion. Archaeological remains, including the original landing pier, blacksmith shop, and Parrish Cemetery, link the site to its earlier settlement, while strong visitation makes it an important part of Perry County’s tourism economy.
