1792 Road Between Bethabara and Germanton
Transportation
2
In 1792, residents living along a seven-mile public road between Germanton and Bethabara built it to bypass heavy traffic on the Great Wagon Road, the main multi-state route from northern states. The road connected with the Townfork Road going into Bethabara, provided a direct link to the courthouse in Germanton, and improved access to schools, churches, and local trades and services.
