Narrated · Plays hands-free in Travel Mode
The Northwestern Pacific Railroad began in 1906 when the Southern Pacific Railroad and the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway merged some of their smaller railroads. It served an area stretching from San Francisco Bay in the south, where ferries were also used to transfer freight, to Trinidad in Humboldt County in the north.
