Rich Knob is a 4,152-foot mountain in Towns County in northeastern Georgia, within the Georgia section of the Southern Nantahala Wilderness and the Tallulah Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest. It is closely associated with two long-distance hiking routes: the Appalachian Trail crosses its eastern flank in nearby Rabun County as it leaves Georgia for North Carolina, and the Mountains-to-Sea Trail follows the same corridor east of Rattlesnake Lodge. Rich Knob also stands among Georgia’s peaks rising above 4,000 feet.
