The Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame recognizes Mississippi’s musical legacy through an organization headquartered in Clinton and a museum at Jackson–Evers International Airport in Jackson. It presents the state’s influence on American music across blues, rock and roll, jazz, country, gospel, classical, rap, rhythm and blues, songwriting, and music production. Its honorees range from B.B. King, Robert Johnson, and Muddy Waters to Elvis Presley, Jimmie Rodgers, Leontyne Price, Sam Cooke, and Big K.R.I.T. It also acknowledges institutions and industry figures such as Malaco Records, Peavey Electronics, H. C. Speir, and Willard and Lillian McMurry, highlighting Mississippi’s broad cultural impact.
