William Farr (1748-1794) was a Revolutionary War hero who fought in the Battles of Cowpens, Fishdam, Blackstock, Musgrove Mills, and others. He was the first sheriff of Union County, the first Union County representative to the South Carolina House from 1791 to 1794, one of the founders of Pinckneyville, a justice of the quorum, a planter, a merchant, and the father of 11 children.
