Arts & Culture
Longmont Museum and Cultural Center is a municipally funded institution in Longmont, Colorado, focused on the history and culture of the St. Vrain Valley and northern Front Range while also serving as a broader cultural venue. It began in 1936 with the St. Vrain Historical Society, opened to the public in 1940 at the Callahan House carriage house, and became a City of Longmont department in 1970. Expanded facilities in 2002 and 2015 increased space for exhibitions, education, and performances. Through permanent galleries, rotating exhibitions, community celebrations, and family programs, it grew from a small historical collection into one of Longmont’s main cultural institutions.
