In Easton, Pennsylvania, this museum preserves and interprets the history of American canals within Hugh Moore Park at the fork of the Delaware and Lehigh rivers. Opened in 1970 to highlight the canal era, it grew from a local focus to a broader treatment of towpath canals, inland navigation, and Lehigh Valley industrial heritage. Its major attractions include mule-drawn canal boat rides on the historic waterway, the Locktender’s House, and surviving sections of the Lehigh Canal with operating locks.
