Bearpen Mountain is a Catskill peak in New York whose broad mass spans Greene and Delaware counties, with a subpeak forming Delaware County’s highest point at 3,520 feet. Lying between Roundtop and Vly Mountain, it divides water flowing toward both New York Bay and Delaware Bay through separate creek systems. The mountain is especially valued for recreation, with trails, a summit cairn, and a long backcountry skiing tradition supported by its snowy northeast slopes and substantial vertical descent. In the late 1950s and 1960s, it also hosted the small Princeton Ski Bowl, an unusual top-access ski area later closed by a land dispute, though remnants still survive.
