Lanfair Buttes is a small group of desert summits in the Mojave National Preserve in eastern California, in Lanfair Valley of the Mojave Desert. Also known as Eagle Mountain, Indian Hill, Eagle Hill, and Graveyard Hills, the buttes are modest in height but stand out strongly in the open landscape. Their prominence made them a longstanding landmark on travel routes through this part of the desert. Just west lies Indian Well, an old well tied to a Native American water source and camping place used in earlier centuries. Petroglyphs east of the well and the route of the Mohave Trail show the area's deeper history of human presence and movement.
