Originally built in 1904, Eugene Field School was a feeder school located at Benton Street and Sixth Street in Monett. It was built by L.A. Mason, a major contractor in Monett at the time. Other feeder schools then were Plymouth and Marshall Hill, and children attended particular feeder schools depending on where they lived in town. Eugene Field School housed first, second, and third grades and was no longer in use by 1924.
