The Pencader Heritage Museum and Research Center presents artifacts and research materials reflecting life in Pencader Hundred from the Colonial Era through the Afghanistan War, including rotating displays on veterans from many wars, original and replicated uniforms from the Revolutionary War to modern times, an M-48 engine display board built in Newark by the Chrysler Corporation, a World War II foot locker with its combat-ready contents, Civil War documents, Confederate currency, Revolutionary cannonballs, Native American artifacts donated by Chief Quiet Thunder, the Wilson-Slack family, local family files, landowner maps, census records, slave ownership and manumission records, Delaware history books, University of Delaware yearbooks, materials on the Cooch family, Dayett Mills, early schools and churches, New Castle-Frenchtown Railroad artifacts, the Battle of Cooch's Bridge, Welsh settlers in Pencader, local historic sites, early household items and tools, antique hand-operated printing equipment from the early 1900s, equipment and photos from Curtis Paper Company and Dayett Mill, early 20th-century local maps, Delaware Archives road records, excavated local artifacts, and genealogical resources such as wills, marriages, church histories, cemetery readings, and recordings of local programs, speakers, and events.
