Indian Creek Recreation Area is a protected recreation area in Alexander State Forest near Woodworth in central Louisiana, centered on Indian Creek Reservoir, an artificial lake within the forest. The reservoir was created in 1970 to serve both agricultural irrigation and recreation. Its development was carried out through the involvement of the Louisiana Forestry Commission, the Rapides Parish Police Jury, and the Lower West Red River Soil and Water Conservation District. The area’s significance lies in this blend of managed landscape, reservoir, and forest setting within one of Louisiana’s state forest properties.
