Cofrin Memorial Arboretum is a 290-acre botanical garden surrounding the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay campus in Green Bay, Wisconsin, created to serve both as a natural landscape and a public resource. Emerging from a 1971 campus plan and expanded by a 1975 gift honoring John and Austin Cofrin, it includes about six miles of trails through preserved and constructed habitats. These range from Mahon Woods, a remnant indigenous forest, to prairie, wetlands, oak savanna, the Niagara Escarpment area, Northern Barrens, and succession plots that show how plant communities change over time. It functions as both a botanical collection and an outdoor setting for recreation, teaching, and research while preserving northeastern Wisconsin habitats.
