The Plumas County Museum in Quincy, California, preserves the history of Plumas County through exhibits on the Maidu people, the California Gold Rush, the logging industry, and the growth of the local community. It also serves as a major research center, holding more than 5,000 photographs and documents along with about 1,000 maps. Endowed through the estate of Stella Fay Miller of Quincy, the museum is owned and managed by an association that also cares for the 1878 Variel Home and the 1859 Goodwin Law Office, recognized as the oldest continually used law office in California.
