Arlington National Cemetery lays to rest those who have served the nation with dignity and honor, representing the American people for past, present, and future generations while immersing visitors in a living history. Approximately 400,000 veterans and their family members rest within its hallowed grounds. An average of 6,500 funerals and more than 3,000 ceremonies take place there each year, along with visits from around 3-4 million people. Its 639 acres also form a Level III Arboretum, serving as a living memorial to those who have served and sacrificed. Arlington reflects the diverse history of the United States, and every grave contains a story of sacrifice and extraordinary lives among American service members and their families.
