William McKinley Presidential Library and Museum
History

In Canton, Ohio, beside the McKinley National Memorial, this institution centers on William McKinley’s rise from lawyer and public official to the twenty-fifth president of the United States, preserving the world’s largest collection of artifacts related to his life and career. Its exhibits also explore the memorial’s construction and the destruction of the McKinleys’ Canton home by fire in 1937. Beyond presidential history, it includes the Ramsayer Research Library, a science center, the Keller Gallery, and the Hoover-Price Planetarium, a largely intact early-1960s facility whose custom-enhanced projector and later digital updates support continuing in-house astronomy programming.
